Happy & Sad Drama Masks Layered SVG
Celebrate your love of the theatre with these “happy and sad” drama masks.
The comedy and tragedy masks originated in Ancient Greece, and they are now a common symbol of theatre and the performing arts.
This layered SVG design can be cut in any colours to match your room decor.
Perfect for theatre students (or teachers!), actors or anyone with a passion for acting or being on stage.
This design comes in SVG, DXF, PDF and PNG file formats. If you’re using a Cricut machine then you need to upload the SVG version into Design Space.
The layers on this design come together beautifully to create a 3D effect.
You can cut each mask in different colours, or choose to use the same colour for each mask.

How to cut layered drama masks Cricut file
This layered theatre masks SVG has seven layers, including the faces.
When you assemble it, start with Layer 1 and then build up the layers in numerical order using 3D foam pads or spacers to add depth.
I stuck together layers 1-6 with 3D foam pads to create a three-dimensional appearance, but I glued the eyes and mouths on as I thought looked more effective.
When I tested this design, I cut two copies of the eyes and mouths – one in white and one in black.
I stuck the white ones on first with glue, and then the black ones on top but I left a little sliver of the white showing.
If you aren’t sure how to make this file, check out this video tutorial:
I cut the sample you can see in the pictures at about 10 inches wide.
You can certainly make it larger than that, and you could make it smaller to probably around 6 inches in width, but I wouldn’t recommend going much smaller as the cuts in the top layer of each mask will become quite small and difficult for your Cricut to cut.
